1. What would a day of heaven on earth look like for you? 2. Pastor Dan talked about Sabbath as being a God-given day to have a taste of heaven. How does that change your view of Sabbath-keeping? 3. In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul writes, "Therefore let no one pass judgement on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ." So on one hand, we shouldn't be legalistic/judgmental about how people keep the Sabbath...but on the other hand it's the shadow of the gospel. In your own words (but using Hebrews 4) how does Sabbath point towards Christ and the gospel? 4. The writer of Hebrews connects faith with entering into "rest." Where/how/why does your level of faith make it difficult to enter into rest? 5. Pastor Dan said, "The only way to come to the Sabbath is naked and vulnerable." (Hebrews 4:11-13) How do you apply that to your Sabbath keeping? Is an unwillingness to come to God naked and vulnerable a part of why you struggle to Sabbath? 6. What has been your most important learning or conviction during this series? 7. We will not stumble into a good Sabbath. What do you need to do this week to have a better Sabbath next week? How will you plan and prepare?
